Tree Fruit

Tree Fruit Trial — Reduced Root Zone Salt Stress

Trial Overview:

Tree fruit operations — including citrus and stone fruit — implemented OA-Ag's fertigation program to address chronic salt accumulation issues in the root zone. Salt stress from conventional fertilizers had been limiting nutrient uptake and reducing tree vigor in high-value orchard blocks.

Program Applied:

The Full Transition Program was applied using V-Series NPK powder through the existing micro-irrigation system. Two Foliar applications. The ultra-low salt index formulation (under 18) was designed to provide full nutrient delivery without the salt load associated with conventional NPK sources.

Key Results:

    • Balanced NPK fertilizers with micronutrients like zinc and iron for robust growth, strong roots, high yields, and soil deficiency fixes.
    • Formulations that boost fruit taste, size, color, juiciness, even ripening, and reduce defects for top marketability.
    • Slow-release options for steady nutrition, optimal soil pH, and prevention of toxicity or over-fertilization to ensure tree health.
    • Eco-friendly choices that cut environmental impact, nurture soil microbes, and support organic practices for sustainable groves.
    • Foliar-friendly blends for efficient uptake, irrigation compatibility, and easier application with superior results.

Takeaway:

Tree fruit operations with chronic salt accumulation issues see immediate benefit from transitioning to OA-Ag's ultra-low salt index formulations. The carbon-based delivery system improves nutrient uptake efficiency while actively building soil organic matter — delivering value both in-season and across years.
